The Department of Media, Creative Industry and Intellectual Property is conducting a four-day Internal Control System Orientation Workshop and Preliminary Audit for the Dhur-Tandingang Gontho Cooperative, with funding support from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and technical expertise from the Bhutan Food and Drug Authority and the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives.
The programme has enabled producers of Dhur-Tandingang Gontho to better understand the cooperative’s internal control mechanisms, including the roles and responsibilities of its leadership and members in maintaining product quality and complying with geographical indication requirements.
The programme has also provided participating government agencies with valuable insights into the ground realities faced by cooperative members and the support required from the Government to ensure the long-term success of Dhur-Tandingang Gontho as one of Bhutan’s registered geographical indications.
